Introducing the new EUSA Badminton 2027 logo
The visual identity of the EUSA Badminton 2027 Championships was created by Benjamin Breitbeil, a student, reflecting our commitment to placing students at the heart of our university sports events.
Benjamin designed the logo around a dual identity: Europe and Strasbourg. Here is his creative process:
“For this logo, I wanted to bring together two identities within the design: Europe and Strasbourg. The blue and yellow colours are inspired by the European flag, an obvious choice for Strasbourg, the European capital and host city of the event.
The badminton shuttlecock is not represented as a static shape. I designed it in motion, as if it were taking flight, with a sense of rotation that gives the impression of movement through the air. It was important to me to convey the dynamism and speed that define badminton, rather than creating a simple, static pictogram.
The large feather of the shuttlecock also pays tribute to the stork, an iconic symbol of Alsace. This creates a connection between the regional identity and the event, while maintaining a modern and minimalist silhouette that remains clearly recognisable across all communication channels, from websites and social media to event signage.
The result is a logo that aims to be dynamic, distinctive and easily recognisable, reflecting the ambition of the championship.”
We would like to thank Benjamin Breitbeil for his work and creativity in designing the visual identity of the EUSA Badminton 2027 Championships. University sport is for students, and by students.
